ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – 21st OCTOBER, 2006

held at

Canine Control Council Showgrounds, King Ave., Durack, Queensland.

The meeting was opened at 1.32pm by the President Joan Bray.

Minutes of Previous AGM: The Minutes of the AGM held on 30/12/05 and conducted by email were read by the Secretary.

President’s Report: The report was presented and read by President, Joan Bray. A copy of this report was tabled.

Secretary’s Report: A report was presented by the Secretary, Bev Scott, from her inception as Secretary on 1st February, 2006. Nothing prior to this date was available from the past secretary, Marilyn Adams.

Treasurer’s Report: The Treasurer (Bev Scott) tabled a report from 23/08/03 to 30/09/06. Copies were provided for the delegates.

Motion from the floor:-

“The President’s and Secretary’s expenses incurred to attend the AGM of the NBCC to be paid for by the NBCC, and delegates expenses to be paid for by their respective clubs.”

Motion carried unanimously.

“All accounts under $300.00 be paid by the Treasurer without recourse to a meeting. Clubs to be notified of what the accounts are for and the amounts concerned.”

Payment of $170.75 for secretary expenses from the previous secretary (M. Adams) which was paid on 25/0/06 was approved by the delegates present.

The Treasurer to reimburse herself for out of pocket expenses for the affiliation fee.

Health & Hereditary Diseases Report: No report was presented. An email was received from Lauren Somers and read by the secretary. L. Somers felt that as she was not a delegate she was not in a position to present a report.

Education & Training Report: No report was available from P. Wheatley.

The President suggested abolishing the present sub-committees and appointing new committees to avoid confusion. Discussion followed and it was decided that:

In the absence of the heads of sub committees at the AGM, the following people be appointed as heads of the following sub-committees:-

L. Somers Health & Hereditary Diseases

S. Chandler Breed Standard Working Party

P. Wheatley Education & Training.

These people to follow up members of their respective committees.

When a person is unable to hold a position they are to officially resign their position so that someone else can be appointed in their place.

Committee members’ names should be listed on the NBCC website.

All committee heads should each present a report to the AGM.

General Business:

L. Birch (NSWSDCBCC) queried the possibility of the date for the NBCC AGM to be a set date each year.

Motion:

“The AGM of the NBCC to be held annually on the 4th weekend in June and rotated around the states”

Next AGM to be held on the 23rd June 2007. BCC of NSW has offered to host the next AGM. In 2008 the position to host the AGM to be offered to BCC of Tasmania.

Brett Farrell (BCC of NSW) asked all delegates present to encourage their clubs to support the NSWSDCBCC in their plans for the next Border Collie National.

The web master needs to contact the NBCC secretary to verify details published on the NBCC website. Peter Wong to be asked if he is agreeable to being webmaster.

The secretary to notify the other state clubs of the NBCC website content.

B. Farrell (BCC of NSW) asked if the NBCC should be an incorporated body. The decision was made to approach the ANKC for advice.

L. Birch (NSWSDCBCC) initiated discussion about the ANKC Breed Council Meeting.

The Health Committee now has two motions proposed by the NBCC to be discussed at their next meeting.

AVA Eye Scheme

Whether results should be placed on an Open Register or a Limited Register was discussed and those delegates present at the AGM opposed inclusion in the scheme.

There being no further business, the meeting closed at 4.30pm.
